Located in heart of st moritz 's main shopping street, hotel monopol is close to all attractions in the town: the restaurants, shops, super markets, bus stations and the mountain railway. the biggest plus of the hotel is the amazing staff who always treat you in a professional and friendly way. from the front office personnel to the housekeeping and restaurant staff, they always try to do their best to satisfy all of your needs. the rooms are not really 4 star (we booked a deluxe double) but that's the case in most of the ski resorts in europe. although the rooms are not big, there are well enough wardrobes and hooks which is quite important on a ski holiday. the bathrooms are also comfortable. the spa is really good (and free for hotel guests) and offers amazing views of the lake. nothing negative? oh yes, the ski room is very small and there is not enough hooks for ski boots. monopol hotel does not provide a shuttle service to nearby ski resorts like many other 4 star hotels do. due to the central location of the hotel the noise can be a problem if you are accommodated in one of the lower floors (although we were staying on the 5th floor the noise of the snow cleaning vehicles woke us up early in the morning after snowy evenings) .the bar area is really not attractive and the smoking lounge is too small. in brief, this 4 star hotel deserves a 4 star tripadvisor rating and will offer you the correct value for your money.
