Unimpressed

We were informed upon leaving that we had to pay a city tax, not once had we been notified of this. upon returning home and checking an official website i discover that in fact i should not have had to pay a city tax in pisa at a 3 star hotel. we had two bookings, one party of four, the other of three. 3 nights stay for which we were charged 1.50 euro per person per night. bad enough to be informed of this so called tax at all, but to be pounced upon in a threatening and intimidating way on our last day left a lot to be desired. i am appalled and upset that we were conned into paying this tax, when the official site clearly shows no required payment of city tax in pisa at 3 star level. i wish to make a formal complaint to your company and require a full refund of the monies we were forced to pay. please direct me to the correct address to lodge both our complaint and request for reinbursement of the money we were duped into paying. additionally, the manager/receptionist/waitress (one and the same chap) was extremely unfriendly and discourteous. the attitude as appalling. not the stuff of which good holidays are made of.

A little gem

A perfectly lovely hotel. very good location, friendly staff, clean rooms. what more could you ask for the price ? wish we had been able to stay longer, but when we return to pisa, will definitely stay here again.

Room with a view1

Excellent overnight stop before flying from pisa. we couldn't believe the hotel's position and very reasonable price - we could actually see the leaning tower from our bedroom window and every time we left the hotel we were amazed at the proximity to the major sights.

Ariston hotel

Overall, i guess good value for money, but the room was far too noisy for sleeping. even with the shutters and windows closed, the road and hotel noise was too much.

Stopover in pisa

We booked two rooms for one night only,i wouldn't have liked to have stayed longer.the hotel obviously thrives on it's location as opposed to it's facilities.our bedroom was quite shabby and not very clean, the bathroom had a broken toilet seat and was very scruffy.there didn't seem any point in complaining as we were only there for one night, also the staff were not at all friendly. breakfast was aweful, including the worst coffee i've ever tasted.

No better location!

Great location right by the tower. we could lean out of the window and see it! good hotel. staff nice, but not overly chatty. room very nice. bed too soft though. real value for money. breakfast is standard italian quick one...croissant and coffee. we had a 6 month old baby and this hotel was great. just along the road near the hotel is a lovely family restaurant. there were two alcoves for people with children. walk out of main door, turn left and walk to the restaurants. the good one had a sort of canopy outside. we sat inside.

Nice hotel that's very close to the tower

I've stayed in pisa a number of times and even though the hotels have, for example, three stars, they all tend to be a bit more basic than you expect. having said that the ariston was nice, clean and being only 200 yards from the tower, very convenient. the only downside as far as i can see is that there is no lift which might make it a problem for people with poor mobility (though being so close to all the sights might overcome that)
