Macedonia, officially the Republic of Macedonia, is a country on the Balkan peninsula in southeastern Europe. It is bordered to the west by Albania, Bulgaria in the east, to the north by Serbia and Kosovo and on the south by Greece. The small Balkan country until 1991 was part of the former Yugoslavia.
