Exterior
Located within the walls of Galle Fort, the property is an amalgamation of many different buildings first brought together as Dutch military offices and later connected to create the New Oriental Hotel. After closing its doors, the property was taken over and completely redone to create what it is today.
Rooms
Rates are for the Chambers category of rooms. These rooms are located within the Church Street or Garden wings and overlook the fort ramparts or the garden treetops. Rooms are large and open plan, with the bathroom, bedroom and then separate sitting area connected. Each room features a four-poster king or twin bed arrangement, writing desk, planter's chair, dining table and wooden floorboards. Decor is reminiscent of a colonial era.
Restaurant
The Great Hall, with indoor seating as well as seating on the veranda, serves light meals and snacks in the morning, as well as afternoon tea. The Dining Hall serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with an emphasis on local and home cooked meals.
