Having stayed in the area many times this was the first visit to the holiday inn mayfair. brilliant location opposite the ritz. arrived early and upgrade to an executive room for £35 per night. huge room with spa bath and desk, etc. wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay and will definitely stay again.

The best price we found for this hotel was via hotelsclick & i'm glad i didn't pay the price offered by the hotel direct! the location is ideal, our journey from kings cross to green park tube station was quick & hassle free and the hotel is literally just around the corner. our check in was smooth & efficient, although we weren't directed to the lift or our room. the room itself was quite small but certainly sufficient for our 2 night stay. whilst clean it hadn't been 'bottomed' i.e. the skirting boards were in need of a good clean & i needed to quickly rinse the bath before using. the furniture is a bit old & tired but adequate. however there was nothing that would stop me using this hotel again. the bar service was quick & efficient but the breakfast service was a bit hit & miss. the tables are crammed very close together & there didn't appear to be enough waiters for the number of people. the temperature in the breakfast room was also unbearably hot - not helped by a malfunctioning toaster which caught alight once to my knowledge! the food was of a good quality though & filled me up for the day.
