I was given the worst room ever.
I'm not a person who likes to complain, on the contrary i'm a person who accepts and get along with whatever my life throws at me. i was really dissapointed this time. i had room 210. i lost count of how many times i have lodged in this hotel but to give you an idea i started visiting this hotel since the 90s which was still under it's former name serena hotel. so yes i am a returning customer and if you're hoping that you will have some privileges for being a returning customer for so many years... in this hotel forget it! on the contrary i was given the worst room ever! this was the worst room i have been given so far. seriously i should have paid half the price i paid for this room. i don't know why i was given this room. i thought maybe because i had the dog with me? but i always visit with my dog and once i was even given room 500 which in my oppinion it is my favourite room. yes i did notice that there was a new manager and maybe he thought that havin a dog you re not entitled to have a decent room. i hope not! this is a pet friendly hotel and a dog is also a guest! and a paying guest too! regarding the pet fee??? i have always paid €2.50 per night .... i have visited again last june and i've been told that the management decided that the fee from 2017 will be €15 per stay ... somehow if i didn't have the emails printed out they were going to charge me €20! then i showed them the emails stating that it's €15 per stay but they replied blatantly that next time i will start paying €20 .... why? taking advantage of a returning customer? is this the way they treat a returning customer? regarding the room. yes i was solo .... but cutlery in an aparthotel? 2 forks, 2 miserable knives which they don't even cut pasta and 2 spoons! what about a teaspoon? none! .... i've had just 2 cups and saucers but not even 1 glass??? seriously?? there was no oven like the other rooms / appts i had before so at least i needed a pan! there was no pans, just 2 old miserable pots. did i really have to beg to have a pan in an aparthotel?? yes after 2 calls to receptionist they came with a pan. regarding a glass i had to go up in the kitchen and beg to have 1 glass. once i cooked ravioli but there was no can opener to open the tomato juice so i had to go up in the kitchen and beg them to open it up for me! seriously?? ac in the room. surely it's not functioning properly coz i put it down to 16 temperature since thursday till monday. the room with that temperature should have been freezing but no ... in the afternoon i was still sweating. honestly i'm disgusted .... you know, i was going to ask if there was any discount for a returning customer but i have been given the worst room ever and could be that this way they treat a returning customer. at some point they locked the emergency exit doors at the back! i have no idea why, but in the many times i lodged here they never ever locked the emergency exit doors! and that is very hazardous.
