Convenient and reasonably priced

I chose this as i wanted a reasonably priced hotel in a central location. i also was swayed by some reviews which said how helpful the staff were. the staff were ok and usually spoke adquate english (as i speak no checz or german) and there was always someone on reception. we were suprised to find no tea or coffee making facilities so asked for a kettle which was provided later the same day but we were told there were no cups or glasses available! after a rather heated discussion we did get 2 glasses. the bed was very comfy and we had a spacious room in the attic which was fairly quiet despite being above a busy street. the hotel is very convenient for wencelas square and from there you can easily get to the rest of town, or if you turn right there is a very close tram stop. there is nowhere to have breakfast in the hotel, apparently you need to go to a hotel 5 minutes up the road, but we didn't want breakfast anyway so didn't see this as a problem. also, if you are on the 4th floor you will need to walk up the stairs from the third floor as the lift stops there. they were happy to let us leave our bags after checking out on the last day and collect them later.the big plus for us was a great jazz bar called jazz time on krakovaska street on the way to wencleslas square. they do great coffee, cheap lunches (good food) and live jazz every evening and it's 5 mniutes from the hotel....perfect!! of course prague itself is beautiful wherever you stay.
