What a lovely surprise - the travelodge in st. mary’s street! i initially booked this hotel because it was the closest to the university of edinburgh’s student lodging in holyrood road where my son lodges so we wanted to be as close as possible. this hotel was a great find, the room was big and spacious, clean and the bathroom was spotless too. we loved the breakfast which was really good and with plenty of choices. the staff were always at your disposal, courteous and helpful and couldn’t do enough. tea and coffee were supplied every day with a kettle in the room. the only small downside was wifi was not included but had to be purchased. i think in present times, this should be included initially. will definitely stay there again when i visit.
