Schlechter kundenservice

One of the best budget hotels in belgrave road......forget the extras though!

This is the third time that i had the opportunity to stay at the sidney hotel. it is a small, clean and comfortable base to spend a holiday or a business trip in london. its proximity to major attractions but out of the noise of the main arteries makes it excellent to have a god night's rest. the room was clean, the linen changed daily and the shower gel smelled nice. tv service was excellent and the room was warm. on the downside, the wifi is crap! forget getting an email from your wife or boss or checking your facebook page! the breakfast is crap as well. just grab a coffee and an orange juice and run for it! however the biggest insult of them all was that i was asked for 25 pence to print a boarding pass! it is not about the money. it is about the service. a printed sheet of paper does not cost 25p and even if it did, printed boarding passes are today a day to day requirement and therefore the hotel should have offered this service for free or at least factor in the expense in the daily rate! i have stayed in many hotels around the world and was never ever charged a penny for a boarding pass. i have vowed not to return again as i was deeply offended by this.

Short break

The hotel was okay, you get what you pay for. our room was on a slope for some reason. table and drawer units sloping into middle of room very strange. the reception staff did not acknowledge you when entering or leaving the hotel. i found this unfriendly as any other hotel i have stayed at, the reception staff usually speak to you. the staff on duty in the breakfast room very friendly and helpful. i would use it again as easy access for the victoria area and westminster.

Gran bell'hotel

Below average

This hotel does not compare in value or service to other hotels in which i have stayed in the same street.

Christmas shopping base!!!

The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located only a few minutes walk from the pimlico tube station. victoria station is also fairly close. found plenty of pubs and cafes in the area. the secure, complimentary storage of our luggage was greatly appreciated.

A very disappointed guest

I will not be going back to this hotel as when we arrived at the hotel we were told that we did not have a twin room and that they only had available 2 single rooms. we were shown the rooms. the first single room you couldn't swing a cat in it. it had a small shower with the wash basin in the shower. no toilet. they expected the guest to walk out of their room down a flight of stairs and up a corridor to use a communal toilet (totally not acceptable). the other single room did have a very small ensuite but again it was so tiny and found bugs crawling around the bedroom and bathroom. the breakfast was okay once we actually got into the breakfast room. they seem to set up loads of tables for two so if there is more that 2 of you, you have to wait for other guests who are sat on the only other 2 tables that can fit more than 2. will certainly not be staying at this hotel ever again.

Sidney hotel- francis mcgrath

My girlfriend and i recently spent a weekend in the sidney hotel on belgrave road- pimlico. i found the location of the hotel fantastic. 10 minutes from victoria station connecting you to a number of underground lines in london. there is also a bus stop right outside the hotel for a 24 bus which takes you to hampstead heath via leicester square and nelson's column. the room we had was small but very clean and tidy and nothing less than we required for a tourist weekend. we didn't try the hotel bar but it looked fine. the reception area was nice enough with all the usual maps and offers for london. on a less positive note, the reception staff were rude throughout our stay and did not want to go out of their way to help us at all. using the secure storage for bags, although a huge positive in general for the hotel, the service seemed unwelcoming by the reception staff who seemed put out by having to open doors so we could carry or own luggage through to the storage room. the catering staff who ran the breakfast room were ok apart from a liitle to eager to clear tables as we discovered when we got up to go to the buffet bar.

Londen trip
