Overall, i had a very pleasant stay at hotel noir. the price was very reasonable and the location was about a brisk 15 minute walk to the centre. the breakfast spread provided was also great. perhaps, the hotel should consider people with food allergies and offer gluten free options and diary alternatives. the receptionists were very professional and helpful. my only complaint would be about housekeeping. the cleaning staff were very loud and would have lengthy loud conversations with themselves across the landing while one staff member was in one room and the other staff member in a different room. they were not very considerate of the fact that it would be very early in the morning and other guests may still be sleeping. furthermore, they would dump all the dirty sheets and cleaning products right in the middle of the landing so the other hotel guests would need to constant walk about these sheets. finally, on quite a few days around 11ish there would be a very strong smell of boiled cabbage. this smell was very intense and spread out throughout the entire hotel.
