Edunburgh weekend

The mercure in princes st is ideal for visiting edinburgh as it is closeto shops, the station and bus stops. the hotel was clean and comfortable and we had a pleasant evening meal with excellent service and a a good breakfast to start the day.

Great hotel in a great location

This hotel has a great location, right in the city centre, just a few minutes away from the main monuments and with a tram station 1 minute walk. the staff was very friendly and always ready to help. the room was good size, very clean and with tea and coffe that you could drink. is a great hotel to stay if you visit edinburgh.

Night away

This is a beautiful hotel situated perfectly on princess street, staff are very friendly and helpfull, we were very surprised with the room when we entered could have asked for a better room or views, only downside was the shower water pressure it was nil struggled to have a proper shower because of it, which was a shame as it was a nice big cubicle, when we were checking out we mentioned this as did another couple staying on the same floor so they went and checked straight away and found that one of the water pipes had shut off that leads into the top floor showers, the breakfast was lovely with lots to choose from and plenty of coffee and tea,, all in all would book again to come stay here at the right price 😀

Double bed squashed into single room

We have stayed in this hotel in the past and it was fine, the location is great. however, this time we were given a tiny room with a double bed squashed up to the wall and radiator. it was absolutely unacceptable as a standard double room, which is what we had booked, not a 'small' double. staff were ok but apparently hotel was full, so we couldn't be moved. all in all, an awful stay. would not stay here again on the basis that we might be given a similar room again.

Mary poppins weekend

Superb location for shopping, between jenners and m&s on princes st. our room overlooked princes st gardens and the castle. we also had a small balcony. my mother has ms and we were kindly given a room near to the lift and the staff were very kind. the restrurant is very roomy and looks out over princes st great for people watching and very relaxing. lots of non guests use this too. self service breakfast was excellent, the high tea was good value at £7.95 for fish & chips, tea/coffee and bread/butter. the location of the hotel makes it close enough to walk to the theatre and train station. taxis and busses stop right outside hotel too which makes it easy to get about if you have gone mad at the shops as we did. first class service, we had a great weekend and are very pleased.

Quality hotel

Spent one night in the mount royal hotel this week. price paid via booking with www.hotelsclick.com was excellent value for such a good hotel in a perfect location. on arrival, we were given a free upgrade to a room at the front of the hotel overlooking princes street gardens and the castle. the room was a little bit on the small side but really we cannot complain. it had all the facilites one would expect in a quality hotel. a full scottish breakfast, which was excellent, was included with the price of the room. a first class hotel and well worth the cost. we will certainly stay there in the future.
