Paris chic!?!

Hotel is what you would expect for a 4* hotel. nice room, with great shower. i was expecting our room to have a bath which it did not have. hotel is not too far from paris nord which is great if travelling via eurostar as i did. the metro is also a 5 minute walk which was great for discovering paris. hotel is located on the edge of china town ... and the food was amazing ... especially in the local vietnamese restaurant. lots of locals eating away from the tourist area which was a great sign, however one chinese restaurant we went to nearby weren't very hospitable to us as english tourists. the fact we weren't fluent in french seemed to really upset them. swimming pool is adequate if a little small, and was also disappointed to find the gym is nothing more than a running machine, and step machine, with some faulty multi weights. reception also need 40 minutes notice to turn on sauna/steam so this needs to be planned ahead which i was a little disappointed with. reception staff were good with the exception of one female who told us to "go away and come back later" when we asked for directions to disneyland. she seemed to find dealing with more than one client overwhelming. breakfast was ok, and the dining area is quite small. nothing to brag about here. no dinner restaurant but you are so spoiled for restaurants in paris this was not an issue. we also had a knock at the door at 9 pm on a friday night from the maintenance man who "needed to clean the lights in our bathroom". surely there must have been a better time to do this than disturb guests on the weekend evening!?! ... i duly told him to go away!!! all in all ... nice room in a good location. would i stay again? yes i probably would. not disappointed by the room, or decor! having said that the air con in our room was also faulty ... the cooler i tried to go, the hotter it would get!! go figure!!
