Will definitely return

This was our second visit to la perouse and we will most certainly return. on our previous visit i had booked a luxury sea view room which was beautiful and i was slightly worried that this time the room would not be as nice since it was a superior sea view room. i need not have worried- the only difference was the size! the rooms are very nicely appointed and the views are fantastic. the service is great, the staff very attentive and with hotelsclick breakfast is included. we ate in the restaurant twice and the food is wonderful. la perouse is not a large hotel but is full of character and charm. we cannot wait to return!

Loved la perouse

The staff were all consistently friendly, and so helpful, spoke excellent english, with good local knowledge. the setting is beautiful, jutting out from a rock face, overlooking nice and the bay. there are several leafy places to relax in, including a roof terrace that has spectacular views. the pool was chic and gorgeous, extremely hard to leave. our bedroom had everything we could want (nice toiletry products, robes, well stocked mini bar, tv, big bed) was extremely comfortable and simply but nicely designed. fantastic location - very close to the beach, port and old town, 20-30 (depending on traffic) minutes from airport. i have read other comments complaining about the price, but nice is extremely expensive, it's hard to find a dive hotel for less than £130, with that in mind i think la perouse is very reasonable. only minor negative is that the cocktails are quite expensive, but they have a happy hour from 17:00-20:00 including champagne, so i guess only day time drinking is expensive.... i wouldn't stay anywhere else in nice.

Good hotel in a slightly out-of-the-way location

Good hotel overall. unusually, there is no driveway to offload luggage. close to old city but a little out-of-the way to center of town. excellent food and rooms have outdoor terraces.

Superbe location and chic quiet place

The hotel was really nice. the food at the restaurant is absolutely divine. the room was smaller than expected but it was nice, clean and tidy. nice swimming pool it was a pleasure to go there after our trip around the french riviera.

Good hotel, great location

Good: superb location on the sea-front, at the edge of the old town. lovely room with a pretty good view of the water. very friendly and helpful at reception. bad: food and drink was expensive (e.g. €24pp for breakfast), outdoor pool & sauna were being repaired so we couldn't use them

Lovely hotel in great location

We had a grest stay at la perouse. the staff are wonderful and definitely the hotel's biggest asset. the location is good between the old town and the port. everything is within walking distance. we stayed in a standard room which was the only aspect we were less pleased with as we felt that it lacked privacy as we had to walk through the bar restaurant to leave the hotel. we would definitely advise a room with a view.

Fantastic visit

Had a great time in this hotel. researched the other top hotels in nice prior to trip and visited to check we had made the right decision! certainly had since the hotel was fantastic with great food and a view to die for! room was wonderful with sunbeds and a table and chairs on terrace so if you book, definitely reserve a sea view!

Schöner aufenthalt

Das hotel hat eine sehr gute lage, auto vor der tür mit warnblink abstellen - rest macht hotel. das zimmer mit sehr schönem meerblick war recht klein, die klimatisierung sehr gut. der frühstück mit innen- und aussenbereich ist sehr schön und ruhig. die speisenauswahl sehr gut. hotel ist sehr gepflegt und angestellte sehr bemüht. ich würde sofort wieder buchen.

So nice in nice!

This is really a lovely quirky hotel in nice with so much character compared to the majority of sterile hotels around. we were staying in a superior room. the room was small but well equiped and very clean. the thing that impressed us most was the large balcony we had with our own sunloungers and patio table and chairs. it was such luxury to lie out here in the afternoon where the sun shone until after 6pm. the staff at the hotel are without exception excellent. they are so helpful and always very pleasant. we were on a continental breakfast deal and the range that was offered at breakfast was fabulous infact it was what is normally offered on a full breakfast hot and cold buffet. the location is perfect, central yet without noise. i would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to nice who has a little extra money and enjoys the finer things in life.

An oasis in nice

Hotel la perouse is a gem tucked away under nice castle close to the port and the old town. the staff are very friendly and most of the rooms are very nicely decorated and have wonderful views of the bay. the restaurant on the terrace and the swimming pool are very secluded and sheltered and an ideal place to relax away from but close to the hustle of nice.

Lovely hotel in a super position overlooking promenade de anglais

We were given a warm welcome at the hotel and the staff were very attentive and friendly. the room was lovely, quite spacious and well decorated. the bathroom was tiled in limestone and had a marble sink and worktop. there is a lovely pool, a roof terrace with reclining chairs and a little courtyard with cushioned chairs/sofas.

Beautiful hotel and great restaurant

We paid for an ocean view room with a terrace, but ended up looking over a tiled roof. they gave us another room upon request, but it had a very small balcony. no terrace. with no additional discount.

Best hotel in nice?

This was our third stay at la perouse. we have stayed in various other places including the negresco, but this is the best. an oasis of calm in a bustling city right next to the old port and the old town but above it all. beautiful views across the bay of nice, superb rooms and exceptionally friendly staff. it's expensive, but it's worth it.
