I stayed with my teenager son at the niki hotel for a week. the hotel is situated on a not too busy street close to paddington station. a handful of good restaurants around, including the niki taverna with tasty greek food, and a "7-11" type shop next door makes this a perfect location. underground and buses are just around the corner and its only a short ride downtown. midpriced hotels in london are usually a bit worn down and the niki is no exception, but the rooms are functional and all have bathrooms and tv. personally i would avoid the rooms on first floor facing the backyard. the breakfast is basic and good. all this together with the price, i will definitely book this hotel for my next visit to london!
