A tale of two hotels
It's a beautiful hotel in a prime location. however, there are two hotels here. the prime imperial is lovely and has amazing amenities. when we checked in, the staff noted that we got the room for a reasonable rate online and banished us to siberia. in this instance, siberia is another building--formerly a different hotel--across the courtyard. while all guests were entitled to use (most of) the amenities, they were rather far away. the siberian building lacked reception or any amenities of its own. in the end, we stayed in the courtyard room one night and then paid a substantial amount extra to be moved to be upgraded to a higher room class in the other building. it even included free drinks and snacks at the executive lounge on the 4th floor. once we upgraded, my opinion changed substantially.
