Relaxing stay in athens

I chose the hotel for a short two night stay due to its location and the fact it has a great pool and i just wanted to relax but be close to the center of athens.... breakfast was great and the waiting staff couldn't do enough to make you feel comfortable.... relaxing by the pool was just what i needed for two days, although the coffees by the were very expensive €14 for two frappe's..... the only negative comments i have are that the rooms are starting to look a little tired and dated.... not what i'm used to in a five star hotel... the laminate wood floors are becoming damaged and look cheap... i'm a light sleeper so the noisy a/c kept me awake most of the night unlike my wife who can sleep through a hurricane.... but in all a very pleasant stay and i'd definitely recommend a stop over to anyone for a few days in athens....

Hilton athens

Great vacation. train/metro from airport to hilton metro station costs only 8 euros and takes about 40 min. the station near the hilton is very close (only a 5-min walk.) taxi from the hilton to acropolis is 5 euros. obviously the historical sites and shopping (at the plaka) are unbeatable. the archaeological museum is extraordinary (not as good as the vatican museum nor the british museum), but very interesting. the new acropolis museum is not interesting because the sculptures and artifacts have been seriously damaged by warfare and an explosion; but the documentary film is pretty good. prices for shopping in the plaka seem very reasonable - so you do not need to bargain too much.

Very high clas hotel with good hospitality , exellent breakfast,clean room and beautiful swimming pool
