Was a fantastic location very close to shops, restaurants and bars. great breakfast. staff very helpful and friendly. room in need of decoration but comfortable and clean.

This hotel is of a good standard wioth very welcoming and helpful staff. didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar food was ok. room was warm and spacious with all you need including a biscuit with the tea and coffee maker, something i find expensive hotels don't do, best western does, good for them! the location is ideal for the city centre attractions of york and is about a 15 minute walk from the railway station.

A hotel with its own car parking spaces in the middle of a city like york is rare, and a definite plus. nice enough hotel - lovely staff, especially in the dining room (though the receptionist may have been having an offday, or even an off-hand day!) - but rather rabbit warren like with twisty winding corridors with several sets of stairs to navigate before i could locate my room. phew, good job i'm a gym bunny or i'd have been exhausted! there's a lift, but it was still a long treck! nice dinner, the dining room wasn't busy (despite the dire warning from the receptionist that i might not get a table, despite it being an hour and a half before last food orders!) and the staff were attentive but not overly so. great breakfast choices, too. room was a bit jaded and in need of refurb. but the bathroom was fabulous!
