The hotels reurbishment is almost complete with rooms looking fresh and modern. great location close to universal, millenia mall & i-drive so a very convenient location. downsides are the excessive parking charges so make sure you factor that in to your hotel price and the queue for the little starbucks cafe in the morning is horrendous.

I got this hotel because it was within my price range and walking distance to universal. it served really well for both of those reasons. the rooms could be updated, but i'd rather keep it as-is with the prices as they are. i would stay here again for sure.

My girlfriend and i stayed here for one night to visit harry potter world at universal. it was clean, comfortable, and the bed was heavenly (especially after staying at my nana's house with a 25 year old spring mattress). the downside was you had to pay for parking (which is ridiculous because there are so many massive unused parking spaces nearby... but that's another issue for another time, we paid $9... whatever). the shuttle to universal took a remarkably slow route, because the double tree is the first stop it takes about 30 minutes to get to universal, we should have just walked the 1.5 miles to get there (there are sidewalks).

We had a good stay. rooms are clean and comfortable, with good beds. no noise for a good sleep, and close to major attractions. its one of the best stays at orlando , but by their price they should offer a parking as free (paid 9$ a day) and a breakfast (or at least lower their coast, since 17$ become 23$ with tax and tips, a expensive cost for a family if you are on a large group). beside that, they have a good starbucks inside and are close to a walgreens, so you area ready for anything. 5 min walk to universal, and close to mall at millennia for those who like spend some money.
