Astor court hotel à londres

Manque d'insonorisation. avions réservé une chambre "twin". literie très mauvaise. vieux matelas à ressorts que nous avons connus dans les années 50 et qui font mal au dos. c'est la seule critique mais elle devient importante au-delà d'un séjour de week-end. impression malgré tout très positive. l'hôtel est globaledment agréable. très bon accueil.

Two nights at astor court march 2010

An excellent value, very clean hotel with friendly staff. slightly shabby furnishings but scrupulously clean. good continental breakfast. good location for central london attractions. stay only slightly marred by current thames water work on the street at front of hotel.

Very convenient

Very conveniently placed hotel at the back of bbc broadcasting house and within a few minutes walk of oxford street. the hotel is not luxurious by any means and the rooms are tiny. they could do with being refurbished as well. that said, the hotel's position is unbeatable for the price. continental breakfast of cereal, toast, pastries, tea, coffee and juice provided. ideal for a place to sleep in the heart of central london.

3 sisters on a shopping spree

Hotel for 1st class we stayed 2 nights. staff were very helpful and friendly. breakfast was very good. rooms were spacious and very warm. would def recommend and would def return to this hotel. location for shopping is excellent just off oxford circus station. would rate 10/10

Another pleasant stay

This was the second time i visited astor court. the hotel is still very good if you want to stay acouple of days in london. the location is very good. the rooms are clean and pleasant.

Gutes angebot für nicht aspruchsvolle

Also wir haben das hotel nach der lage und dem preis gesucht. diesbezüglich hat alles gestimmt- super lage, die wichtigsten sehenswürdigkeiten konnte man „zu fuß“ erreichen. dazu noch ein lob für die „fähige“ rezeptionsdame – sie hat den sicherungsausfall um 23:00 uhr wieder repariert :-) aber es gab noch ein paar punkte, die uns nicht gefallen haben: unser bad war zwar sauber, aber die badewanne hat von innen den lack komplett verloren und der fußboden war mit linoleum verlegt… das frühstücksangebot war ein wenig „aldi“-lastig: brot und brötchen aus einer eingeschweißten plastikfolie (sowie auch kleine käsestückchen), keine wurst, dafür aber große auswahl an müssli / cornflakes. und noch eine info für alle, die probleme mit schlafen haben- 50 meter vom hotel entfernt befindet sich eine sehr große baustelle, die ab um 7:00 uhr arbeitet…(stand- juni 2009)

London in the snow. - 2nd - 4th feb

Really friendly hotel, staff very polite + helpful. rooms were very spacious for london, separate bathroom, toilet, and large living area. flat screen tv with trouser press tea/coffee loads of room to hang clothes - safety deposit. minus 2 to minus 4 all week but hotel was really clean warm and friendly.

Soggiorno dal 02/01/09 al 06/01/09

Arrivati alle ore 24.00 ci viene data la camrera 51 in mansarda e fredda. sceso in reception chiedo di alzare il riscaldamento ma mi viene risposto, in inglese, che è centralizzato e quindi mi offre una coperta. nella speranza che la temperatura fosse dovuta ad un inutilizzo della camera, e stanchi per il viaggio, decidiamo di andare a letto e verificare il tutto il giorno seguente.il nostro risveglio è al gelo. facciamo colazione ed usciamo. ritornati in camera verso le ore 17.00 la temperatura rimane fredda per cui torno in reception e chiedo che un responsabile venga di persona a verificare. ottengo ciò e miss. mara conviene che le nostre rimostranze erano fondate, ma essendo al completo ci promette che la seguente notte l'avremmo passata in un'altra camera al caldo. dopo un'altra notte al freddo ed utilizzando la vasca da bagno per poterci lavare e riscaldare,(tenendo conto che l'innesto del tubo flessibile al doccino era rotto) ci viene data la camera 2 al piano terra dietro la reception dove a parte uno spiffero nel serramento del bagno si può godere di una temperatura confortevole. la colazione al buffet, con buon assortimento di cibo, viene servita in un locale seminterrato sotto la reception ad una temperatura per la quale non disturba avere indossato il maglione. confermo tutti i confort come da catalogo. apprezzo il vostro interessamento e colgo l'occasione per porgervi cordiali saluti marco messori

Christmas shopping

Beliggenheten var helt super veldig nærmt sentrale handlegater, samt at området rundt hadde puber og spiseplasser. rommene var store, hadde 1 natt med leilighet deretter vanlig rom som en var stort.når det gjelder komfort på badet var det svært gammeldags,toalettet (uten vask) var et sted, dusj og vask et annet sted- det ble lite funksjonelt. frokosten var helt grei.

Good value, good location

Have stayed twice now and whilst rooms are basic they are clean and tidy. have been fortunate in not being allocated downstairs rooms as these look pokey and not very private.furnishings and bathrooms could do with some tlc as rather marked and tatty. big pluses are the friendly staff, location and price for london. hotel is only a few minutes walk from oxford circus or great portland street tube stations and if you're more adventurous you can walk to a number of major attractions e.g british museum saving travel costs.

Generally

The location was excellent and we really enjoy the trip to london. the rooms was ok, but now more than that. its thin walls between the rooms, and we could hear the neigboor sneeze and snore true the wall, and that gives you no privacy at all. the toilet was noisy, and a visit there on the night wake up the entired hotel. except that we are pleased with the hotel.

Very nice hotel!

I was in london with my 11 year grandson and i would recomend this hotel to each of my friends or family members. the reasons are as follows: central location, clean, nice personal, kind service and what's not less important: the hotel guests we met there are people " comme il faut!"

Rooms & reception

My wife and i arrived at the astor court to be greeted by a very polite receptionist who advised us of breakfast time and our room number that was room 6. room 6 was the only poor part of our stay the bed was two singles pushed together, the room was small and the bathroom was in need of attention as their was old filler around the bath (black instead of white) and grout missing from bathroom tiles. this made the bathroom look dirty. i was not happy with the bed and the general condition of the bathroom i made my way to reception and requested a room change and stated my reason why, the polite receptionist apologised for the situation and advised i could not swap my room tonight as the hotel was booked and no alternative could be given but i could swap in the morning. we were moved to room 45, a much better room with a much cleaner well maintained bathroom with separate toilet. the rooms are basic, but i would say in general they are nice, warm and clean (everything you need) the breakfast is continental with many well known cereal brands, toast and many different breads and cheese (inc tea, coffee & juice), the breakfast is self service in a clean, well maintained area. overall the breakfast is average but its enough to set you up for the morning and again all staff are polite and helpful. the location (5 mins walk from oxford tube and three mins walk from starbucks is ideal. my overall opinion is good of the astor court, its cheap (for london prices) the rooms are warm and clean, the breakfast is good enough to set you up for the day and all the staff are polite and very helpful (yes i would stay at the astor court again when i visit london)

Nice hotel situated close to oxford circus

Nice rooms, nice location - close to oxford circus but quirt situated. the staff was friendly and helped us with a cot for our baby. stayed in room 43 which was nice and roomy.

Holiday

Relatively good space. breakfast room not very cosy. bread not that interesting. bathroom very cold (room 30) no heating and no/very little hot water in the morning as soon as several people are going to have a shower and not very much pressure on the water. nice clean towels every day and cleaning of the room ok srvice in reception not very good. no possibility to print out a reservation for hometrip and no help from reception to do it. when asking for nearest internetcafe the answer was try to go over to the computer and google internetcafe in london - that is not service in my mind.

Reasonable hotel

Seems they are charging for the location and not for the facilities the place is definitely shabby, no shelving in cupboard, just hangers, the useful cupboards are blocked and cannot be used.

Good value accommodation

We were very pleased with this hotel. it was clean, our room was large and very comfortable and the service at the hotel was very good. the hotel was very close to wimpole street where i was having laser treatment. the price we paid to stay here was a real result - half the advertised rate! the only minor problem we had was with a whistling pipe in the bathroom but managed to rid ourselves of this by turning on all the taps and flushing the toilet at the same time.

Stay for shopping....

Rooms clean, location great. met my expectations considering the price. however, several of the persons at the reception desk had difficulties with smiling and seemed not to notice us when entering. a smile and "hello" will certainly improve the stay considerably. - and the brown and yellow check plastic tablecloths in the breakfast room are certainly practical, but they don't make an inviting impression :-)

Nice place, shame about the hotel supervisor

I stayed here on my hen night which i had booked over 6 months ago through hotelsclick.com. when i arrived at reception i was advised that 1 room had not been booked. i had full proof the room had been booked and paid for. the supervisor was extremely rude and said it was my fault for booking through an agency and not directly at the hotel, i'm not sure what this had to do with anything?! we had to rush off as we had a show to watch and asked if this could be sorted out on my return. i felt the attitude of the supervisor was very unhelpful. on my return the superviser was no-where to be seen and one of the other members of staff had found the booking! breakfast was very nice, continental style.

Good budget hotel

Having read mixed reviews we didn't know what to expect. our experience was that the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. our room was spotless, adequate for our needs and looked recently decorated, crisp white sheets and soft white towels. the breakfast room was maybe a little small and the choice of food limited, we would have liked to see some kind of fruit but the staff were very attentive and kept everything topped up and the tables were cleared immediately people left. it was very hot when we stayed so air-con would have been good. this is a good budget hotel and we would stay there again.
