Weekend away

On arrival the valet staff were very welcoming and informative. it was interesting having to ride an elevator up to the reception area, but when there, again we had no problem with the staff. our room was very clean and tidy and we had a wonderful view of the ocean. we had chosen this hotel because it was for a wedding, but we would certainly revisit for a recreational stay. we only visited one of the pools, which was clean, and there were plenty of staff on hand to help out where needed.

Done with the w

In summary, this hotel is filthy. there was blood on the sheets when we arrived that had to be changed out. splatter stains on the headboard (we can only imagine). litter in common areas. garbage in drains at pool area (including part of a condom). we have stayed at other w hotels and were shocked. free breakfast was free "continental" type which took 20 minutes on line to get. we went out of our way and paid a premium expecting a great experience instead i was skeeved out same as if i spent the night in a flea bag hotel. what a disappointment.

Great hotel, fantastic location

If you are familiar with w hotels, you know how sleek and modern they are...and ft. lauderdale is no different. it is a beautiful hotel with amazing decor and wonderful staff. there are a few annoying things that we experience but it is likely because we stayed during the week. the second pool that they had was not staffed with a person to give out towels or a bartender. also, drinking by the pool is very expensive. lastly, you have to call for a coffee machine and refills on coffee for the room, which was somewhat annoying and something i would think would be standard in a hotel of this caliber. other than that, this was a great hotel with fantastic amenities, wonderful staff, and lots of great dining and entertainment options. do yourself a favor and eat breakfast at steak 954....it was the best breakfast we had over the course of our entire trip!

Nice hotel, staff soso

Nice hotel, pool ok. service level not that great except the bell boys, they work for the clients. pool att. sucks, everyday, no exceptions. room with kitchen, big kitchen, but nothing to work with... two knifes and three forks, thats it. bit strange.
