Upset & angry
Arrived late with what i understood was a confirmed booking via hotels.click. paperwork all seemed in order. told at desk my booking was bumped & the offer of a free taxi to an out of town travel lodge. equally, knowing this no one had contacted me in advance. also suggested if i could make own arrangements then any alternative hotel cost would be paid. unfortunately, leeds city centre hotels full due to university graduation week. a case of dig heals in and eventually 2 rooms were offered to myself & another woman pregnant guest facing similar circumstances. eventually, given cards to room. subsequently it turned out room offered to woman was already occupied with sleeping guest. another 3rd booking arrived & was told no room at the lodge. not sure whether resolved. having travelled from scotkand & by time resolved & suitable all night parking spot found got to bed at 12:45 am and had to be up for 7am. totally unsatisfactory service & at last can tell someone & public about this. staff indicated this situation is common practice. equally there will i'm sure become a more aggressive violent stand taken by a bumped guest who will fall out with staff over situation. credit to staff who handled this equally in sorting & accommodating move to another room next day. other than this upsetting situation i would have perhaps recommended. however until over booking practice ceases would not wish others to go through similar experience.
