This is an elegant hotel in a prime position on princes street just a two minute walk from the royal mile.the interior is warm and welcoming as are the staff who make you feel special. we stayed in a basic classic room which was cosy and comfortable with excellent furnishings and linens.we did not have a view of the castle or princes street but we do not sit in our room looking at the view as we get out and about looking at the views around us and you can hardly miss the castle! we had a fabulous meal in the number one restaurant which deserves its michelin star as it is equal to,if not better,than many others we have enjoyed. i have no hesitation in recommending the balmoral based on our experience.
