Soria moria very pleasant

Although the hotel is by no means in the center of town it was this that made the hotel such a nice place to stay. just some 10min work to the local train (or a short drive as you can park your car at the station) and then a lovely seinic trip down the mountain side to oslo. appr. 30 min, but it didn't seem that long. after spending the day in oslo at different museums etc it was good to #get away from it all" at soria moria. can absolutlly recommend the hotel for both family and more experienced travellers.

Mountain retreat

It was like a mountain retreat, the view breathtaking and being away from everything, but without a car it was some hike up from the train station and there was nothing around in the area, no restaurants, stores, etc. plus, there was nothing to do in the hotel itself since the pool was under construction and there were no other activities as it's really a convention center.

Buon viaggio

L'hotel si trova a 35 minuti di metropolitana dalla città e a 15 minuti,a piedi,dalla fermata della metropolitana.a parte questo inconveniente è perfetto!

Oslo in "salita"

Bell'hotel, ottimo lo standard ed il rapporto qualità-prezzo, peccato non abbia un servizio-navetta che lo colleghi con la fermata della metro (una decina di minuti a piedi).consigliato per un giorno in "montagna" (utile per la visita del trampolino di holmenkollen, a 4 fermate di metro) ma non per l'intero soggiorno ad oslo, a meno che non si disponga di un'automobile (la metro chiude alle 23 e i taxi, come tutto il resto della città, sono carissimi). salutatemi la sora maria...

Oslo stay

Our stay in this hotel will be our last. some hotel staff uncaring and not helpful. the 10 minute walk to the hotel from the metro station was 20minutes uphill carrying luggage. on arrival told there were no double beds available as hotel was full. i had booked 1 double and 1 twin rooms for our family. the lift was out of order so had to carry our luggage to the 4th floor. no assistance from the hotel staff. discovered the lifts had been out of order for most of the time for the previous 6 days power cuts swimming pool closed no buffet meal on 2 of the 3 days stay. hotel staff informed us this was only provided if bus parties were using the hotel so had to have a la carte in restruant, or head into city to eat lifts out of order on departure so had to carry all the luggage once more to the ground floor so overall a terrible stay for our city break.having said that the hotel itself is quite nice but it appears this hotel is geared up for winter holidays and during the summer caters for bus parties and conference centre use.

Roughing it in oslo

We had a short stay, and the hotel suited us well as there was free parking. the view could have been better if they had cut down some of the high trees covering the grate view.

Excellent view from the hotel

The hotel is located at holmenkollen and you can see beatiful view of oslo city. the breakfast was excellent (with lots of food and fruits). the receptionist is very helpful and guide us to the nearest train station. the train station is quite uphill but it is goods for your exercise.

February snow?

We chose this hotel because of its location close to the ski area. with one of the warmest februarys on record the skiing conditions were not good - but we could hardly blame the hotel for that. however the swimming pool and sauna were out of use, the open fire could not be lit, they did not have a sheet big enough to fit our double bed, and you had to pay for most of the better tv channels. we would not chose it again

Soria moria - oslo review

One of the very best hotels in the oslo area. nice surrounding, excellent restaurant quality and service, couldn't be better. have to visit many restaurants before finding a similar quality and service. front desk staff could be friendlier, that's the only remark on the negative side of the balance. good value for your money

Soria moria hotel - in the norwegian woods

Good conference hotel located approx. 20 minutes outside of town, on top of a hill - close to the holmenkollen ski jumping arena. rooms were good sized, clean and nicely decorated. the hotel is situated close to pure norwegian nature (oslo-marka just outside the door).
