Barely a hotel

I wouldn't consider it a hotel if you compare it to any other country. rooms were spacious, however low maintenance since couple of lights were not working but we were told to use the remaining lights instead of fixing them. cleaning was not exceptional, rooms not soundproof. we had a shaft in our bathroom that was connected to the hotel kitchen, each time they cook we would smell all the food cooked, and we could also hear the chef's conversation inside our bathroom. staff was very nice, and helpful to a certain limit. internet only available in the lobby with an extra cost.

Last night in havanna

The last night inn havana i wanted to stay in a hotel that would most resemble a casa particular. as this is what i want to try in my next visit to havana. this is why i choose paseo. the price point was higher than a casa particular, $100 so i expected something a bit better. the lobby and surrounding porch was beautiful. the room, not so much. there was a big piece of plaster missing from the wall. the ac was so loud i was not able to sleep that night. i had to shower with cold water it seems the faucet wasn't working properly. all of these issues would have been acceptable at a $50 a night accommodation, not at $100. i understand and totally appreciate this is not a hotel in the us or europe, i was prepared when i planned my trip. the items that ive mentioned could be easily be repaired without major cost. i believe the property has great potential because it is a beautiful property.

Terribile

Io e il mio fidanzato abbiamo soggiornato in questo albergo per 4 notti e se mai dovessi un giorno ritornare all'havana non ci tornerei sicuramente. stanze abbastanza pulite ma piene di scarafaggi che uscivano fuori dalle pareti in bagno. aria condizionata rumorossisima e mal funzionante. io personale del ristorante è stato molto scortese e la colazione molto scarsa e poco varia.

Reasonable price/quality

We spent 9 nights this february. we were 4 persons and had 3 rooms. this hotel is a clean one, rooms need a little bit renewing but one can not wait for 5 stars quality on 2 stars price. personality is polite and onist. one of us lost his wallet, and it was brought to reception by stuff. breakfast is plenty but tasting some oily. taxi cost 10 cub to the old town.

Fair price for what it offers

I booked 3 nights at this hotel. one night before going to a cruise and 2 nights after that. the first night was ok, the hotel is worth it for the price i paid (80 dollars double bedroom). room is big, bathroom is ok, hot water, despite the towels were too small. slient air conditioner, nice bed, but in the early morning a rooster start making non stop noises. staff is very friendly (sergio is very attentive and nice), breakfast is good for cuba standards. the 2 nights after the cruise, though, we got there and they had a prpblem with the hot water. they sent us to hotel colina, which is bigger, but older, and had not a good breakfast. the towels were also small, and the room smelled like mold. air conditioner was too loud. i had the option to go back to paseo habana the last night, but i just decided to stay at colina because it was to much hassle to pack everything and take a cab there to stay only one night. i would stay at paseo habana again.

A disaster!!!

Awful!! that is the word that fits to this hotel. we stayed there for 4 nights, they never renewed the towels, never cleaned, the windows did not open for fresh air as well as they were not locked well, and also, there was just one key.. when the one is outside having the key, the other one stays locked inside till morning when the maid comes to clean.. noone has another key for the rooms, just you and the maid, if you want to get out during the night, it is impossible till the morning!! the first night there was a great storm outside and all the water got inside the room making all the floor wet including our buggage.. the response of the reception was like this: "yes we know, the windows are not locked properly!! do not think that the location is good, it is far away from the center, too far away.. the only place that is near in melia cohiba hotel.. four nights of disaster!! the only positive was the price.. never there again!!

Havana november 2015

Thios hotel is located in a quieter residential area of havana but only a 10-15 minute walk to the busier area of avienda 23 between parque coppelia and towards the malecone where there is plenty of bars and nightlife. the paseo habana is a pleasent hotel for the cost and as many hotels in this price rage room do need an upgrade but this is excpected in cuba. staff were friendly and attended to any of our requests. only downside is the location if you are looking to spend time in havana old town as a taxi to and from the holtel would be required

Agradavel surpresa

O hotel surpreendeu positivamente. apesar de simples, o hotel está bem localizado, o atendimento foi eficiente e os quartos são confortáveis e limpos. o hotel conta com serviço de wi-fi, algo difícil de se encontrar em cuba, que funciona com cartões de acesso que são adquiridos na recepção. o hotel fica num prédio antigo mas muito bonito e bem conservado. as cadeiras de balanço na varanda do hotel são muito agradáveis e o lugar ideal para acessar a rede wi-fi e tomar uma boa cerveja bucanero.

Desconforme con los mecanismos de reserva y recepción

Llegamos al hotel y no tenían nuestra reserva. nos cobraron el doble de la tarifa acordada por este medio y al día siguiente nos devolvieron el dinero porque había llegado la reserva. no nos gustó nada la manera de hacer las cosas, la reserva estaba confirmada con ustedes mediante email confirmado pero como no estaba la confirmación de la agencia intermediaria nos querían dejar sin habitación. afortunadamente tenían habitaciones libres y pagando el doble (70€) pudimos dormir en el hotel al llegar a cuba. recomiendo a quien utilice este servicio hacer la reserva con tiempo y chequear antes de viajar con la recepción del hotel que esté hecha la reserva porque en cuba (tan incomunicada como siempre) es muy difícil hablar por teléfono o contactarse por internet para resolver algo.

Not one of the best, a casa is better

The hotel is ok. it's relatively clean, has air conditioning in the room, the staff is nice and trying to be helpful, there are a restaurant and a bar, and wifi (not free, there is no free wifi nowhere in cuba). the location is not very good, you have to take a 5-6 cuc taxi to old havana in order to see the interesting things of the city. we had an issue with the shower head in our bathroom, which made us shower without it (only with the hose), and it wasn't fixed by the time we left. to summarize, it not a bad hotel, but its not a good one either. after sleeping in casas in other places in cuba, i could say they are much better.

Bastante bueno

El hotel paseo habana tiene buena ubicación. limpieza es tambien muy alta y la camarera es una de las mejores. siempre nos ayudó con cualquier cosa. mayoridad de la gente que trabaja en el hotel es simpática y buena onda, pero muchas veces nos recomendaron cosas no tan buenas para nosotros como clientes, pero seguro que tenian comision por recomendarlo (como por ejemplo toda la cosa con taxi - nos llamaron taxi al centro por 20 cuc!!!en lugar decirnos que hay taxi publico al lado por 10 cup (50 veces más barato que el taxi que nos "recomendaron" en el hotel). desayuno incluido en el precio es bueno, siempre comida fresca, pero no nos gustó mucho que lo teniamos que pedir de la carta (y nunca tenian todas las cosas de carta - por ejemplo verduras)

Don't waste your money

Its a dump full of drunk russians that will grope your partner given the chance , horrid place , horrid food falling apart not moved on since the 70's , there are better places to stay in the world cuba and this hotel are not them..... you can't polish a turd.. we had been looking forward to seeing cuba and the hotel and all are dreams were shattered , don't go to cuba go to another country

Paseo habana

We enjoyed this hotel. the staff were very friendly and helpful. we had two meals in the restaurant in the evening and found the food much better than we had been informed would be available in cuba. the portions were more than adequate and the prices were very reasonable. the hotel room was comfortable and reasonably priced. tourism to cuba is growing so to expect everything to be at a high standard right now is not realistic. if you go prepared to see and have an experience of cuba before commercialism gets a grip then go now. one lady from usa commented 'why don't they clean and repair the buildings, then they would get more american tourists' was not seeing the real and charming cuba we saw.
