The ottoman imperial is a find. in the very center of historical sultanahmet there is a quiet and nicely decorated place to stay. the very helpful staff does everything to accomodate the guests. its rooms are clean and have an up-to-par bathroom. the matbah restaurant offers special historical recipes from the ottoman era, really tasty.

Alcune delle camere dell'albergo (quelle più economiche) sono di dimensioni molto ridotte (ci sta praticamente solo il letto e 20 cm per parte) ed hanno la finestra che dà su un piccolo cavedio dal quale arriva poca luce e poca aria. il condizionatore presente nella camera spara l'aria direttamente sul letto. le pareti sono molto sottili ed ci sono molti rumori, sia di giorno che di notte. per il resto la posizione è ottima e la colazione spettacolare.

La experiencia en el hotel ha sido muy buena. el trato fue amable desde el momento del check in cuando nos dejaron elegir entre 2 habitaciones. la habitación relativamente pequeña pero con vistas a santa sofia era más que suficiente para lo poco que queriamos estar en la habitación. destacar el baño que era amplio y con una bañera-jacuzzi. el lugar del desayuno era muy agradable, aunque el desayuno despues de 5 dias se hizo bastante repetitivo, ya que la variedad era limitada. en resumen la experiencia en conjunto resulto ser fantastica!!

The ottman imperial is in a fantastic location, right beside the hagia sofia and blue mosque, on a side street, leading to the topkapi palace. the rooms are smalland the bathrooms tight, but they are very clean and well furnished. because of the construction of the building it is possible to hear your neighbours, if they are noisy in any way. also the call to prayer can be heard clearly from the back rooms very early in the mornings. the staff are all wonderful and the bald usgur (concierge)is great for recommendations. we would go back should we find ourselves visiting istanbul. we would not eat in the hotel, and we would not bring children to the hotel, but we would recommend travellers, who want a clean, safe room, in a great location for €100 or less. try eating upstairs in the medusa or go across the water to izmet bebe for fresh fish, on the asian side under the bosphorus bridge.

A superb property located neaxt door to what old istanbul is all about...a modenr city comfortable and proud of its history and current status... showing the muslim civilization is markedly fluid in modern day economic circles... a hard working people -very helpful with a satisfying sense of humour... where an exchange can easily develop into a deal of some sort. the staff at all levels assisted with a quick and easy interface in this strategic city.
