Nice reception and open plan bar but that's obviously where they ran out of money! the rooms seriously need an upgrade - peeling paint, ripped carpets and mould in the bathroom - this is badly and probably illegally advertised as a 4 star - trust me it is not! complain at your peril - you will be treated to sarcastic, rude and patronising staff - who can't help their attitude because according to the hotel manager ian franke - it's because they a french!!! if you have to stay do not pay for the executive upgrade - you get a much smaller room and the only difference if a coffee maching and one bathrobe. we booked here to treat ourselves to a little luxury for our wedding anniversary - luxury it is not but at least we can say we will never forget it but for all the wrong reasons. shame on you accor/novotel!
