Das Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port ist ein 4-Sterne-Hotel mit hervorragenden Einrichtungen für die Reise geschäftlich oder zum Vergnügen. Es verfügt über 10 voll ausgestattete Konferenzräume für bis zu 300 Personen, eine gemütliche Bar, die eine Auswahl an Getränken und moderne Gerichte und... Great location, reasonable price.
Really good location, just a couple of roads from the seafront. lovely breakfast. we were a bit confused by the smoking rules. although there are ashtrays in the bedroom + bathroom smoking isn't allowed?! when we asked we got a few funny looks and were told they were for decoration. just seemed a bit odd to us. the rooms aren't huge but we didn't spend a lot of time in ours, the decoration+view isn't that exciting either but it's very clean. if you want a good base, in a good location, for a reasonable price i would recommend this hotel. i would mention as a general note that marseille itself is extremely overpriced and i wouldn't recommend it for a budget holiday and most of the restaurants and bars aren't that friendly unless you're spending serious money. we actually got ignored because we woudn't order wine at £8 a glass! this was after we had already spent £65 on two main courses and 2 drinks each so don't think we were being cheapskates! they didn't clear our plates for over half an hour and just ignored our requests. if you go in the height of summer expert a few nasty aromas from the ancient drain system too.
