Convenient to balboa park and downtown

This seems like it was recently renovated. the was clean and the bed comfortable. there was no coffee maker or refrigerator. the wireless internet was extremely weak and could not be used. but it was close to restaurants and to the park.

Parking is a bear

The san diego market is overpriced but it is what it is. my son got us tickets to a cubs-padres game so we needed to stay close to petco. the parking garage is a bear. you corkscrew up 7 stories before turning back in the other direction for another 5. the hotel lobby is on the 12th floor. the parking spaces are incredibly tight as is the winding road that takes you up and down. self-parking is $29, i don't know what they charge for valet but that might be the best way to go. the rooms are fine, no complaints.

Quick getaway

Hotel is in process of renovating, so several work areas are encountered on way from street to elevator to front desk on 12th floor to room. i am sure that once the renovations are complete later this month, the hotel will be amazing. hotel staff are very accommodating as would be expected at this caliber of hotel, we were not disappointed. recommend the valet parking, over self parking, it is a very windy garage; you can send an sms to the valet desk so that your car is waiting when you make it downstairs.
