This hotel is a great choice for an enjoyable stay in San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The rooms feature standard amenities and views of the surrounding city. The on-site restaurant serves traditional and innovative creations of Mediterranean cuisine with seasonal and local produce. Great location
Easy to find, very convenient for the el escorial palace and we were able to park for free on the street outside and avoid the huge hotel parking fee. the menu del dia doubles in price between lunchtime and dinner so eat at the earlier time if you can. the attic room was large with room for a sofa but mind your head on the gables! there were some maintenance issues; doors need attention. the fire doors on the stairs only shut if pushed hard so were often left open. our room door was also very noisy and hard work to use. the desk staff smoked at the front door which made it less than pleasant to use but were helpful. we did have a view of the basilica in the palace if we opened the bathroom window. some rooms won't have a view at all. the area is quiet at night. there are plenty of local places to eat with a huge variety of styles.
