Unkind reception

Location was good. but reception was really unkind. one day, fire-bell was ringing when i was in the room. i was really surprised but reception staff just laughed and said 'just happening'. and the other day, i asked a shuttle bus to go to some place. they said just what time i could take that bus. so i was waiting bus in front of reception. but meeting point was other hotel. -_-;;;; they never said about that even i was waiting in front of reception;;; anyway they're always unkind.

Elegance

Given we got a good deal via hotelsclick.com and a room upgrade via tripadvisor.com, our stay was a great success. the staff spoke very good english and were helpful with all sorts of advice. the setting is brilliant, almost in the uffici and right by the ponte vecchio. the buffet breakfast is comprehensive, included and one of the best we have had anywhere. our room was a mini suite with a separate sitting room/ kitchette even though we had booked a basic double. we didn't get the "room with a view" but we couldn't have asked for much better.

Great location

Perfect location. right on the river and walking distance to all the shopping, museums, eating..in the middle of it all! the hotel was great with intimate inside and outside bar on the rooftop with view to die for. the room was spacious and clean with good service.

The very best hotel experience ever

This was the very best place hotel stay i have ever had. it was my third of 5 hotels i had stayed in in italy during a 3 week trip. the room was fantastic including a great bathroom and shower which i love. the hotel is about 75m from the ponte vecchio and is slap in the middle of anything you could want including restaurants of all price brackets. the breakfast was by far the best i had in italian hotels and i was stuffed every morning. the room was serviced during the day and then again in the evening to prepare it for the night. there were that many small touches i am sure i have forgotten them but it was all in the small things including ribboned t shirts left on the pillow to sleep in. the roof bar is great with a reasonable price on food and drink. there is a swedish sweetheart working in the bar who is just a delight and couldn't do enough. all the other staff were italian which was great too as who wants to go to italy and get hoteled with non nationals? anyway, it was my honeymoon and the hotel orafi in florence totally enhanced the experience. i would go back in a heartbeat.

Good place to stay in florence

I chose the hotel for its location and was not disappointed! all major attractions at walking distance. the room was quiet, big enough and nicely furnished and the bathroom with marble tiles clean and well equipped. staff very polite and helpful. great breakfast.

Where to satay while you're in florence

Excellent on all counts. hotel attendents were superb. they supplied excellent dinner suggestions, were friendly, cordial and spoke english. the hotel is centrally located. my wife and i are both 71 years old and found that all the major attractions were easily within walking distance.

Wonderful hotel in florence

Degli orafi is a wonderful hotel with a calm and elegant atmosphere. very quiet rooms (at least on the backyard side)and a beautiful breakfast room. helpful and friendly staff, roof garden with view over the arno river and the surrounding hills. recommended!

Great stay at the degli orafi

Firstly, we secured an amazing price through hotelsclick.com, some euro 200 cheaper than any other last minute website was offering, and that included (a good) breakfast when the others did not. we were upgraded by the hotel from a standard room to the top of the range room at no charge. my wife received a free bottle of bubbly for her birthday, compliments of the hotel. the room was beautifully furnished and faultless. we enjoyed the rooftop terrace bar with its views and the beautiful breakfast room. location location location! this hotel is next door to the major sights and any good travel guide will lead you to the best /restaurants and bars/eateries which are not far away. no taxis, simply walk on the beautiful streets of the historical center. safe to walk around at virtually any hour. hotel staff were efficient and keen to please in all areas including reception, catering and massimo at the bar :) the hotel facilities are certainly adequate, a very good standard and comfortable. decor, including the classic pottery and the ceiling of the breakfast room, was truly beautiful. we enjoyed a completely comfortable and hassle free stay and we will be back!
