De france vienna

Excellent service in reception when we checked in. young gentleman was very helpful and friendly. location perfect, just a few steps to the u-bahn station. room was big and clean, a bit outdated though, but suits well to this old building and decorations. old tv in room. breakfast was excellent! internet was quite expensive and it would have been useful to have a few computers in lobby area and if they could have been used for free.

Review of hotel defrance

The hotel is perfectly located for access into the centre. within walking distance to the museums, opera house, shopping district etc and easy to get to/from the airport. the hotel is very smart in appearance. beautiful chandeliers, and pictures on the corridors walls. the staff are friendly and very helpful. bedroom was spacious but my partner and i were disappointed that the room consisted of two single beds pushed together, even though we had requested a double bed. some of the furniture looked abit worn, but this didn't detract too much from the overall ambience. my girlfriend found the room a little warm, but i like to be quite toasty in winter so this didn't bother me. the window opens so you can let in fresh air if need be. bathroom was very large. water pressure on the shower is very strong but id don't think the shower attachment is placed in and optimum position, because even with the shower screen in place the floor still got significantly wet. the bath was nice and big (so many hotels just have showers), and a nice touch were the complimentary bathrobes. breakfast was plentiful and there was an impressive range of cold and hot food available. mini bar was free which was nice. the alcoholic drinks available were 2 bottles of beer (heineken plus a local austrian beer) and two small liquor miniatures. there was also a good choice of soft drinks i.e. 2 x coca-cola, 1 x 550 sprite, 2 x bottled water (sparkling) and a orange drink. the minibar was replenished each day. there is also a mini fitness room which is available on the 6th floor , accessible 24 hours a day. the room consisted of two upright bikes, 2 cross trainers and two treadmills. the equipment is of a very good standard and each is fitted with a personal cardio centre i.e. tv screen and headphones permitting access to the tv/radio channels received by the hotel). there are a range of free weights (i think the maximum was 10kg or just over), two benches, a mirrored wall and a small stretch area with mats. there are no resistance machines which is a bit of a negative, but given the choice i would prefer better cv, which this hotel has. considering the class that this hotel is rated most of things we liked i suppose would be standard. we normally stay in 3 stars for weekend trips, but considering the great rate we got (79 gbp per night), this place was excellent value and was perfect for our romantic weekend.

Stay in hotel de france, vienna

The hotel as such is very good, but i was given a very small room with a blinded window without any views (it was a narrow courtyard), but with a lot of noise from the airco of other rooms. if it had been very cheap, it would have been alright, but i had to pay as much as other people for large and light rooms. personel of the hotel was helpful, it was clean, the breakfast very good, so otherwise it was really good. there is only one computer for internet use which did not work well.
