This hotel disappointed us, given the other options nearby. i selected the hotel based on good tripadvisor reviews and its advertising claim of quiet, charm, and affordability. our room (115) was on the street and noisy. the breakfast area was as dark and institutional as a hospital. and the staff were definitely not charming. they were, in fact, rude and unfriendly. and the price of $175/night tax included was highway robbery.

Ottimo boutique hotel, la posizione è veramente eccellente vicinissimo a tutte le attrazioni più importanti dell centro storico. solo per questo merita già in grande applauso. però qui si trova gentilezza , grande professionalità, disponabilita, discrezione, grande pulizia e attenzione al cliente. stanze nella media, ben rifornite, accoglienti, bei bagni, qualcuna un po' piccola ma il rapporto qualità/prezzo è ottimo. colazione buona con tanta varietà, terrazza panoramica ti lascia senza parole. ristorante buono, con un servizio delicato e meritato. se tornò a istanbul starei qui nuovamente senza pensarci 2 volte!

Great location, about a minute from aja sofia, the basilica cistern, ... very good price but the rooms are exceptionally small, and the quality is more like 3*

Hotel buono in ottima posizione. personale disponibile e gentile ottima pulizia. prezzo nella norma. la posizione è sicuramente un plus poiché centralissima ma altrettanto silenziosa.

We booked this hotel based on the photographs on the website and got it for a good price, approx £80 per night with hotelsclick and a discount code. i wouldn't have liked to pay the full price being asked by the hotel. it was excellent value for money mainly due to its character and location. the views from the terrace and restaurant were amazing. drink was very reasonably priced on the terrace with views of hagia sophia, day and evening. the staff were very friendly and everything was calm and low key. the only loss in stars for us would be the size of the bedrooms (standard). they were functional but the double occupied by our friends was very small. although we booked a double we were given a twin room which was slightly bigger. hence i wouldn't pay a lot more than we paid for standard rooms. we didn't complain so have no idea whether they would have given us a double room or not. a minor niggle but nevertheless something so simple they shouldn't get it wrong. we would stay there again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone going for a city break in the amazing city of istanbul . everything was on your doorstep.

We enjoyed our stay at the celal sultan. the staff were really friendly. the location was excellant. the only two things that let this hotel down was the breakfast and the bar prices in the hotel. the breakfast was continental and did not offer much variety. the hotel drinks prices varied. on arrival they seemed reasonable. however one evening they charged over £10 for a beer out of a can and a small vodka tonic! the room, location and reception staff were all excellent!

Very nice, clean and quiet hotel just in the centre of istanbul's sultanahmet. gorgeous view from the hotel's restaurant. recommendation to all except families, because of a bit smaller rooms.

Unfortunately the weather was colder than expected. however, the hotel is conveniently situated in old istanbul which meant we didn't have to go far to see the sights in the rain & cold. the hotel has been refurbished tastefully & comfortably. the staff were pleasant & helpful. a hotel i would recommend to my friends.
