Night in dublin

Our night away in dublin was very pleasant. the regency hotel was priced within our budget for a one night stay. we decided to eat at the hotel, food was of a high standard and menu choice was great. the bar atmosphere was friendly and enjoyable. the musical entertainment was enjoyable and the staff were helpful, pleasant and friendly. room was a nice size and comfortable. breakfast was lovely the following morning.

Big hotel

Very big hotel. we had a lovely room at the top of hotel. lifts were fine so no problem. long corridors. extremely quiet when we were there. had an early leave so a tray was brought up at 630. good service. although we asked for an early call it didn't happen. two negatives. one the car park. an excessive charge. as a customer surely there should be no charge. found that bad. it isn't the easiest place to find as it's set back off the ridiculously busy road but the reception staff tried to direct us and printed us directions when leaving.

It was an ok stay, with some positive and negative sides. positive: - room service was always very good, every day i had a clean room, fresh towels... - the bed was comfortable. - there is a food store and a swimming pool nearby. negative: - the carpet in the corridor and in the room was smelling dusty/mouldy, which triggered some mild asthma attacks. - checkout was very cold: "oh, you don't owe us anything, bye!"

Regency hotel stay

My wife and i stayed here many years ago and this was our first trip back. we picked it because it's on the north side of dublin and easy to get to. it's handy to the city centre, 13 stops on the bus at 2.40 euro each. our room was in the new section and it was a little bit noisy not helped by what seemed to be thin walls and noisy neighbours arriving in at 3.30am, but you have to accept these things in a hotel. parking was 9 euro which i thought being 3 km from the city centre should have been free to residents. wrong remote for tv but managed using the buttons. being a bank holiday weekend and using a hotel search engine it was probably 30% cheaper than city centre hotels.

Ok hotel

On our arrival we had a problem with our room. we asked for a twin room with an extra bed. we were under the impression that this room would have two double beds and a single extra bed after ringing the hotel before we booked, however we were presented with three single beds. once we informed reception they had no problem in changing us to another room, however this second room was quiet small for a twin room and we found it a little stuffy because of this. we didn't complain as we didn't want to move again.

My stay in the regency for a wedding

Went there for a wedding reception.the bar prices where very dear and the servics in the residents bar was very poor with no draft on sale only bottels at a fixed price of £6.50 and no spirits only in small bottels and there was"nt enough staff on duty to serve the customers,some people where waiting 20min to be served.we where told that tea and sambos would be served on arrival while waiting for the meal but none was giving out.

Ok looking hotel from the outside but absolutely lovely on the inside. rooms were great and the beds were very comfortable. breakfast in the morning and the staff in the hotel were excellent. very central and right beside a bus stop directly to the city centre. brilliant stay

Hotel good, breakfast caos!!

Stay was great until breakfast time. no bread, no butter, no juice,no food, no organisation!! staff going around in circles..juice from machine spilling onto floor..i called over manager..he said he was unaware of it but then a lady spoke over my shoulder and said "excuse me i told you about this 10 mins ago" and as we spoke in front of us a heavily pregnant lady slipped!!!!we stayed in september and there was similiar disorganisation...really poor, a let down for those in the kitchen as the food was excellent!! hope something can be done..my suggestion is get rid of that manager!! hes male, slightly obese, and irish ! so no one can blame the foreighners !!

Excellent irish experience

I have stayed in dublin before but this hotel is an excellent example of irish friendleness and great food. i would recommend this hotel to everyone and also would like to stress that drinks and food prices are cheaper than downtown dublin which has now become unbelievably expensive.

I stayed in this hotel o 11/11/2008 while attending my daughters graduation in dublin. every aspect of my stay here was perfect, the room was beautiful and the food gorgeous ,i would recommend this hotel to anyone and will also book through hotelsclick again.

Definitely not a 3 star hotel

We stayed in hotel for all ireland football weekend & i honestly don't think i've stayed in worse rooms in my life, everything so dated carpet worn away throughout the room, bathroom was disgusting & tiles were hanging of the wall. on arrival i called recption 3 times to complain about the conditon of the room with no answer/reply, the service in the restaurant & bar was very poor, knowin that the hotel was booked to capacity for that weekend, you would assume that they would have got in the required staff to cover this. very unimpressed definitely won't be stain again.

a poor 3*

Our trip was booked to stay over the night before the all ireland football final and the hotel was selected just because of its proximity to croke park and also the fact that it was in the northside of the city. reception and bar area were ok and staff friendly. i was very dissappointed with the standard of the rooms and felt that they were very poor for the price we paid and was thankful we were only there for 1 night. however they have a great and secure carpark and in the city this is important.

My stay

I was not that pleased with my stay in the regency hotel as on the computer it shows you rooms that are of a much higher scale the rooms were very basic they had no air condition and that was a big downfall, as i was with my 6 year old daughter when i had the window opened in the room that night the road noise was awful so i had to close the window and then the room was too warm. i had stayed in the marriott hotel 2 weeks prior to your stay which was also for a feis and my stay was much better and the price was very good there. i dont think i would stay at the regency hotel in the future. yours sincerely katrina cregan

Service at reception, first class. room first class. only gripe was the use of "the seasons" restaurant for breakfast and dinner which necessitates going outside. "inclusive riverdance package" provided the set meal which wasn't great and the worst seats in the house for the show. (we upgraded..but couldn't get the seats we'd have wanted at such short notice.) would have preferred a choice and would have paid accordingly.

Room standard was very good but noise from room next door was extreme because of the dividing door, it was like sharing a room with another couple, you could clearly hear talking,tv,snoring, going to the loo, using the hairdryer etc. the doors do not close without slamming them which again causes excessive noise and the maids do not seem to appreciate that although they are at work perhaps guests might be trying to sleep so are very loud in the early mornings. the choice of food for the breakfast was very good, buffet style with eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, yogurt etc but could have been hotter. easy to get from hotel to dublin with choice of buses, we bought a 3 day pass which made it really trouble free. there is a celtic night at the hotel which is the only entertainment at a cost of 65 euros each which seemed expensive for guests.

one night break

after booking our one night stay at the regency, iwas a little bit nervous as iread some reviews on the hotel not all good,we had booked a dinner show as well.the reception staff were very pleasant and i asked for a good room as my husband was celebrating his birthday and we were given a newley refurbished with a lovely veiw of dublin. the breakfast was really nice helped yourself but everything was nice and fresh.i would stay here again.just a bit more upgrading on the landings and stairs needed whitch i am sure they will do
