The Ennstal (valley): at the bottom you will find the wildly-romantic Enns, cosy villages and cities, on the sides is where it rises up into the winter paradise. The Ennstal has musical names: Stoderzinken, Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Ramsau, Dachstein Glacier? The Ennstal has new, impressive ski mountains to offer, the larger of which are connected to the Four-mountain ski area: Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm. You can try your luck on the 115 km of world-cup ski slopes: the Fis-downhill slope on the Planai leads directly to Schladming, with the last steep slope. You can reach airy-heights with the mountain railways leading to the glacier, where you can get close to the 3.000 metre high peaks. Here you will also find the spectacular ice palace and the Dachstein Sky Walk. There are also signs of winter athletes in the valley: the Ennstal is a Nordic-Region. With over 450 km of cross-country ski tracks, you can almost get jealous of the cross-country skiers. Most of the aprés ski action takes place in the bars at the valley mountain railway station. The many sledding trails also offer a lot of fun. Horse sleigh rides and walking in the white winter landscape show the romantic side of the valley.
