This was our first time staying at the bali rani hotel and we found it to be a pleasant experience. the location was great. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the breakfasts were amazing. our room was adequate, although i would have thought being a 4 star hotel that maybe they could have provided a dvd player in the rooms. the pool and pool area was lovely, although my husband would have liked a swim up bar. my only criticism about the pool is that it closes down at 7.30pm (and the staff seemed eager to close things up sooner if possible) which i think is too early as we would sometimes like to have a swim after having been out to dinner. i think 9pm to 9.30pm would be a more suitable time. our feedback at the hotel re this early closing time was that they have complaints re noise from the rooms around the pool. my suggestion is that one shouldn't choose a pool side room if that is going to be an issue, also it did not appear to me that the type of people who stay at the bali rani are noisey unrulely individuals.
