Das hotel ist zentral gelegen und man erreicht die meisten sehenswürdigkeiten zu fuss. die bahn,s-bahn und u-bahn sind auch schnell erreicht. das hotel hat schon einige jahre auf dem buckel und das sieht man leider auch an einigen stellen im öffentlich zugänglichen hotelbereich und in den zimmern-der charme der 80er lässt grüßen.

I chose the westin because of the location and because the price was very attractive. we were not disappointed. the location is excellent. within walking distance to many points of interest and just in front of a metro station for further trips. the hotel was very clean, the breakfast was generous though not very creative. the design is a little outdated and the room furniture showed signs of wear. the bathroom was nicer than the room but the toiletries were of very basic quality. the wifi costs 15 euro / day. the reception staff at check in and at departure were not very friendly. at departure the lady required the reservation voucher otherwise they would charge my credit card while her unfriendly colleague at check had already confirmed the rooms was paid. overall we were satisfied with the stay and the inconveniences were minor. i would still recommend it.

Excellent base to explore berlin. many important sights were within walking distance. staff were excellent, very helpful and informative. notwithstanding the size of the hotel, we never had to wait or queue for anything and we felt that we got personal attention. highly recommended.

I stayed with my wife at this hotel in august 2010. the location is terrific - on friedrichstrasse just off unter den linden in the heart of old berlin and adjacent to an underground station. staff, service, amenities and food were all of excellent standard and the guest room and bathroom were of a good size for a city centre hotel. the breakfast was of a exceptional standard not experienced elsewhere. there are plenty of excellent restaurants in the surrounding area.
