L'hôtel, en affaires depuis 1837, est réputé pour son hospitalité traditionnelle irlandaise délicieuse. A l'intérieur, le charme d'antan mélanges joyeusement avec les commodités modernes introduites au fil des ans, y compris une boîte de nuit ouverte le vendredi soir et samedi. En plus de petit... A not so pleasant stay - never again!
We booked this accommodation because we were looking for an affordable place to stay. but we actually had to realize that this place was not only inexpensive but also very cheap (the negative aspect of it!). our first room was facing a backyard where a generator or air conditioning (or whatever it was) was running so that even when we closed the window the volume was unbearable and even though we put earplugs in we couldn't sleep because of the noise. when we asked for a new room the next day we got a room that was on the top floor but was facing the street. in there the noise was at least bearable but earplugs were still necessary to get a good night's sleep. apart from that the rooms were really run down and looked as if they were asking for a renovation: no lampshades, wrinkling wallpapers, mold in the bathroom, windows that you could only open with some luck (see attached pictures). the positives were the guys at the reception (gave us a new room without hesitation - even though that didn't improve things only marginally) and the location which was close enought to everything to walk.
