Stayed with family for one night while passing through dublin. rooms are large, simple and modern. great shower & tv with many channels. comfortable bed with duvet. easy to get into city centre as tram stops right outside the hotel's door. staff on desk very friendly & helpful. good buffet breakfast with plenty of choice, excellent for my children! free wifi.

The gibson hotel is located in the gentrified docklands district of dublin. it's close enough to the bars and nightlife district if you want to hang out but is a peaceful place to retreat and sleep away from all that. the hotel is really modern and does a great breakfast.

Lovely, basic hotel, right beside the o2 which was great for us (my husband and i) as we were attending a concert. the luas just outside also very handy to get us into city centre. bar food was fine, tasty but nothing spectacular (and i thought a little bit pricy for what you got, but didn't break the bank at the same time). mainly thai food. i had a thai green curry which was more like a soup it was that runny but the flavour was lovely so i didn't complain about it. didn't try the restaurant. room was nice and clean, bed comfortable. nice little touches around the hotel like, barrel of apples to help yourself and a posy vase to take to your room if you wanted to. reception staff courteous and helpful. can't fault this hotel, had a very pleasant stay.

Not well located. common areas need updating. good breakfast. be careful of the automatic door at ground floor. its sensor does not operate well. it closes on you and can cause you to fall - as happened to us. no place to leave the car for loading and unloading. "the parking does not belong to us" so you have to pay extra on an hourly basis or per day.

One of the best hotels i've stayed in anywhere! very friendly staff. the person who checked us in reached across to shake our hands when we arrived and came round the counter to hand us our room keys/cards and explain how we could find our rooms ! the room? what can i say? huge, huge bed, spotlessly clean, everything worked. there were huge crowds outside, when we arrived, waiting to go into a concert at the o2 arena. my room overlooked the arena and i could see all the crowds but could not hear a sound! the soundproofing was simply incredible. breakfast was superb. lovely spread, all freshly cooked and plenteous. we got this on a deal, so the price was fabulous too! would definitely try and find the money, even at full price, to stay here again when next in dublin and would recommend anybody else to do the same.

Stayed here for 2 nights wish i could have stayed longer. it's so easy to get to on the tram. hotel itself is so modern and comfortable. and right beside the o2 arena.

Excellent rooms, nice restaurant and bar, with a lively feel at the dock end of town. it is a lovely walk into the city centre (about 20-30 min) along the liffey, particularly if you start east (dockside) of the o2 is right across from the hotel.

Stayed twice at the gibson now, once for a gig in the o2 which is right beside it. the hotel has a parking deal with the attached carpark which means you can leave your car there for 24hrs for €14. the rooms are very quiet, the beds are large and the staff are very friendly.

Modern hotel, could not be more convenient if attending the 02. room was clean, bright and very comfortable with a generous shower in the bathroom. breakfast was very good with a wide choice. staff were very friendly and helpful. would stay here again without doubt.

Brilliant hotel. very modern - funky - not a romantic traditional hotel. staff were nice. some were a bit cold i felt. very efficient. lovely decor (very arty). food was delicious. rooms gorgeous - very comfy beds. free wifi. parking was a bit of an issue - €14 a day. staff not too sure about it. wasted a lot of time in confusion .

Stayed here for a concert in the o2 and despite it being slightly more expensive than other hotels, it's location certainly made up for the price difference. 30 second walk each way anyone? hotel is very contemporary, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. breakfast buffet was substantial, and all of excellent quality. only slight quibble i have is in the bedroom. in our room, there was a frosted pane of glass between the bedroom and the bathroom. very modern looking and aethetically pleasing. unfortunately, if nature calls during the night, once you turn on the bathroom light, the bed is bathed in light from said pane, which isn't great. other than that, the hotel is 100%.

I enjoyed my stay very much. however i booked for myself and my son but my son did not stay. i said this to the staff member on reception but she said that there was nothing that she could do as i had not booked with them. so i paid for bed and breakfast for him and this was not used.the night was expensive for me as a result of this.

We stayed in the gibson for one night. the room was spotless and modern with a tea and coffee making facility. there was a full ironing board and a hairdryer with a nozzle (a rarity in most hotels. bathroom was lovely . reception staff were welcoming and efficient. there was no queue for breakfast at 9.30. it was among the best breakfast selections ever - fresh fruit, seeds,yogurt, full fry, salami, hams, cheeses etc. we were visiting a relative in clontarf and it was very conveniently located. we would definitely stay again and got a v.good deal from hotelsclick.com
