Fairmont vancouver hotel was great - but hotelsclick was not so great
I booked one room through hotelsclick for one night on my way through vancouver on june 18 2013. i found the service provided by hotelsclick to be sub-par, bordering on terrible. first, i didn't receive a confirmation of my hotel booking until the day before i was going to check into the hotel, so i had no way of knowing whether my booking was even made. fortunately, i called the 1-800 number for fairmont and was able to find out that the booking had been made before i arrived in vancouver. when i did receive my confirmation from hotelsclick (the day before i arrived in vancouver), i double-checked all the information and it seemed fine. however, when i arrived at the fairmont, imagine my surprise to find that not one but two rooms had been booked by hotelsclick in my name. fairmont was unable to help me and told me that though they would cancel the second room as i obviously didn't need it, i would need to chase down hoteslclick on my own to find out why two rooms had been reserved in my name (note, that the confirmation of my booking from hotelsclick that i had received the day before was for one room, not two). i am now in the process of trying to find out what happened, though i suspect hotelsclick has acted inappropriately. i will never book through hotelsclick again. the fairmont itself is fine. a good, convenient location though pricey for the size of the room.
