A great left bank hotel in a super neighborhood
Having sampled several hotels in its price category over the years, we were pleasantly surprised by the saint germain. our room was bigger than expected and well designed. the hotel has a beautiful comfortable lobby, an excellent continental breakfast and a very helpful staff. the hotel's left bank location can't be beat. it is a block and half from a metro stop on boulevard st. germain and a short walk from the seine. but the rue de bac is a side street with limited traffic and noise. the neighborhood is not exceptionally touristy, which means that you can easily get what you need in the way of food and supplies without paying inflated prices. this includes several good eateries within a two block area. we thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay and plan to return.
