Excellent hotel in perfect location for short visit to london

Not the most modern of hotels but the rooms are well appointed and very clean. great views over hyde park from our room on the 12th floor. breakfast is well worth the price with a really well thought out choice of food. had dinner in the thai restaurant and the best i can say is that it was underwhelming and expensive for what we got. staff are really great. a short walk from paddington station so if you are flying into heathrow it is perfectly placed.

Once again the best choice

It's the second time i've been at lancaster hotel, and i'm completely satisfied. wonderful position with beautiful breakfast room overlooking hyde park fountains. on the very first day of my arrival i started my visit by crossing the park in the sun and in less than twenty minutes walk i was in knightsbridge. i did it in may with blooming flower beds and i've just done it with the serpentine and the pond completely frozen and more recently covered with snow. the price is really convenient. comfortable rooms( the second time i was on the tenth floor and i had half view on the city and half side view on the park!). the underground is just under the hotel but it doesen't disturb, you don't notice it.

A quick overnight stay

A pretty good hotel, chosen simply because of a work party being held there. got a much better rate through hotels click than the hotel were offering. be warned that parking at the hotel will cost you an extra £30 though (which explains why the car park was empty on a saturday night). a good clean hotel (although rooms quite small unless you upgrade) and a great situation, right next to hyde park and a ten minute walk to oxford street. the continental breakfast offering is poor unless you pay more for a higher level of continental breakfast or even more for a cooked breakfast - this lets the hotel down for me as it comes across as mean. al in all, a good 4 star hotel but a hotel that is trying to get every last penny out of you by charging extra for all sorts of things you expect as part of the standard price.
