I payed hotel three month before arrival. at hotel's reception i was told there is no available room. embarrassing situation. the hotel offered me the other three stars hotel in amsterdam, 5 minutes by walk in direction of the city center.

The room was quite spacious and comfortable. the bathroom was a little disappointing with mould visable on the tiled walls. front desk staff were mostly friendly, breakfast room staff not so much. breakfast was good and the location was good and mostly quiet. stairs can be tricky for those with heavy luggage, we had backpacks so we were fine.

I chosed the hotel for its locations: very close to the center, 10 minutes walking by the city life but a bit out of the confusion. perfect stay for a long weekend.

Hotel nova is ideally situated near dam square and offers excellent access to attractions on foot and also by tram, which runs on the street in front. the hotel is quiet and clean with a pleasant reception area and friendly staff who are there at all times, day and night. the rooms are well maintained and serviced each day. our room was a little cramped due to too much furniture being crammed in (the table, chairs and fridge were not really necessary). the breakfast was quite good and items were replenished througout the breakfast period. the hotel has good facilities, such as free internet access and hair dryers in rooms. i would recommend hotel nova as a pleasant, well located place to stay in amsterdam

Arrived at hotel at noon and pleasntly surprised that the room was ready so early and especially by the size - we had paid for a triple room for me, wife and 15 year old daughter but instead we were put into a large quad room that was extremely spacious. only small gripe was that the bathroom was very small considering the space in the rest of the room - could have made it a bit larger to be honest as had the room to do so. also had a nice view out of the hotel front across the small square. breakfast was average - nothing special but not bad either with something for everyone to eat - we didn't try the seemingly famous scrambled egg so can't comment on this. room kept nice and clean and staff at reception were fine - not amazingly helpful but polite and efficient would best describe them. all in all woould recomment as in a very central location close to all major city centre sights
