Entrance foyer closed for renovation. although i didn't request a room with special facilities my bathroom was fitted out for a guest with disabled needs. it was room 101. i wondered if i was being given a subliminal message! unfortunately the heating/airconditioning made quite an annoying ticking sound until it reached the correct temp then quite a mighty bang when it clicked back on. i had a choice of being cold or listening to the ticking. i chose the cold which didn't make for a good nights sleep. however, the staff were all very friendly and breakfast was made up of a wide choice selection.

One night stay

My daughter and i stayed at the marriott regents park for one night mainly because the hotel had a swimming pool. the pool was small, but okay in general, except that the room that the pool was in was extremely hot and humid. i wanted to sit by the pool while my daughter swam, and was way too hot in regular clothes. sauna was nice, steam room was not hot enough. the women's locker room was not clean, and someone brought her middle-school aged son into the locker room. the elevators were very slow. in the morning, around 10 am, we waited ten minutes with no elevator in sight. the hotel phone near the elevator on our floor did not work. asked someone from housekeeping if we could take the stairs, and she showed us where the stairs were. the sign said no access to lobby, but in fact there was access to the lobby through the kitchen and dining room. ate dinner in the restaurant. the restaurant seemed empty. food was fine, but nothing special. tubes were not working well the weekend we were there. had to wait until nearly 3 pm before we could check in. there was nothing in the minibar except a large bottle of some alchohol (perhaps left by the previous guest). the room was quiet. ice maker on our floor was extremely slow. internet for one day was 15 pounds, so of course we didn't use it.
