Perfect for a day in mainz

I normally stay inside frankfurt for layovers when flying through fra. this time, i stayed in mainz. for one day in mainz, this location and hotel was perfect. it's right between the pedestrian area and the train station, a very short walk from either. had a wonderful evening stroll in mainz. the facade of the hotel is a bit bland. the inside is in a great condition. reception was very friendly. room was quiet and bed fine. good sized room. breakfast had a large selection. only downside is the restaurant is too small for the size of the hotel, so avoid peak time if possible. i didn't pay the 15 euro for wifi, nor used parking or other facilities. the usual abundance of german tv stations. i found it great value and will stay here again. much nicer than staying close to the train station in frankfurt.
