Lovely spacious room. really clean and really comfy bed with lots of wardrobe space and seating area with table. building is amazing and a step back in time. they really should up grade the lifts tho. they take ages at busy times

Hotel adelphi

I along with my daughter recently stayed at this hotel on the whole the hotel is a lovely place to stay the beds were comfortable and clean some parts of the hotel were very decorative, we dined in jennys carvery where the food was delicious with a starter main course and a sweet the staff were very pleasant and helpful and the price was very reasonable

I love this place, but some don't

The britannia adelphi hotel is something special. it was built in 1914 and the public rooms are beautiful. everywhere you look there are architectural treasures. i love it and will go on returning. it has, however, seen better days and some of the other areas are rather shabby. having said that, it is gradually being imrproved - i first stayed there five years ago.

Faded elegance

The big advantage of this hotel is the central location. also the price was reasonable for what you get. but don´t expect a luxury hotel as it is shown in the description.

3 night stay

Hotel was fine. as well known the hotel was beautifully appointed years ago and shows its age somewhat but still a pleasant venue. staff friendly and polite.

Very poor hotel

Stayed two nights in what at best can be call a very basic hotel, the bathroom was like something out of the sixties it really needs to be brought up to modern day standards. the worst thing about it was when i fell asleep only to wake up with two people standing in my room, it seems they booked both of us into the same room, when the hotel staff arrived they seemed to think it was no big deal. i would have left the hotel immediately but everyplace was fully booked. i wont be back to the britannia adelphi

Great location if you want to sacrifice comfort

Very old huge hotel, it has got some charm and it is clear to see that in its day it would have been for the grand and wealthy. however it is tired looking and depending on your room location...you could end up with a completely uninhabitable room or a nice airy room. we had booked 4 rooms and they all were on different floors. no problem to us. but all our rooms were of different caliber. some were nice and clean and some disgusting with no heating and dirty. however when we complained we got a lovely large room on the third floor. the breakfast was great. the lifts were a pain as they kept on getting stuck and breaking. i had to walk down six flights of stairs with my disabled friend. a pain! the adelphi was okay to stay in if there is a group of you going away for a girls or guys weekend bender. or a couple away for a weekend getaway. overall we all enjoyed our stay in liverpool as a whole as the hhotel location was great as it was close to the city centre for shopping, matthew street and concert square.

3 wonderful days in liverpool

Britannia adelphi hotel is a beautiful old fashioned style hotel with all the charm of yesterday. located in a wonderful site, no transport needed as its so central to everything. the twin room was spacious and fully heated. the bathroom was fashioned in the old style big bath and basin. water hot no matter what time of day or night it was. breakfast was served in jenny's restaurant, big style buffet plenty to eat. my mam and i really enjoyed our stay.

Un poco antiguo pero limpio

El hotel es un poco antiguo pero está muy limpio. en las habitaciones había poca calefacción y tuvimos que pedir mantas. la situación inmejorable.

The adelphi experience

I throughly enjoyed my stay at the adelphi. i would recommend it to any of my family or friends if they are staying in or near liverpool. the position of the hotel so near lime street station is a huge bonus.the room i had was clean, well equiped and the bathroom & shower room was the same. the staff are the hotel's greatest asset. they were friendly, helpful, kind and very welcoming. any queries were dealt with immediately and i can not thank them enough for their assistance.

Endearingly tatty

If you're desperate for corporate-standard hotel features, then this is not for you. the hotel is enormous. it's a hangover from a different era, and rather tatty round the edges. but i really liked it. the room was large. it was clean, and everything i needed was there, and it had character that you just don't get in a modern corporate hotel. the staff were friendly, and i would not hesitate to use it again.

Grandeur, but rather faded

This hotel is very well situated, being about five minutes walk with luggage from liverpool lime street station. it is a grand and imposing building, but it has seen better times. having said that, i have noticed a general improvement in the overall ambience over the time i have known it. let us hope this continues. the price through hotelsclick.com was highly competitive and as far as i am concerned the stay was very cost effective.

A treat

I had always, since i was quite small, wished to stay at the adelphi... my partner wished to spend time in liverpool taking photographs ... we indulged ourselves and were pleased to find any negative comments we had read were, in our experience, unfounded. pleasant and efficient staff in all areas, all our accomodation was clean and breakfast adequate for us ... our only very minor niggle - the latter could have been available untill later ...

How come?

How is this possible for such a big hotel (in name)? room 316 i am talking about. 1. no possibility to check in at two o'clock before 2.30 h in the afternoon 2. a small twin room for single use, no problem at all. but a room without curtains, all night the lights from the very big lounge ......... that was a very bad night. 3. a shower that cannot bring the water to the top because of a leak. 4. no batteries in the remote control of the tv. just a few channels, some of them with very bad reception too. less important of course.

Perfect one night stay

Started with a very bad reception, i could not check in at two o'clock in the afternoon! after a short talk with the manager (i am a frequent quest since 8-9 years) i was allowed to go to my room. that was a very big sweet (pink and rose) room, far more than i espected and ever had. a pity that they still don't have showers. lying in the bath and have a shower is not really pretty or nice. and for such a hotel not having a good tv-set with modern, internatio nal tv-stations i cannot understand.

Disappointment

Room bathroom old fashioned, poorly decorated and generally just plain grotty. more representable of a £20.00 per night b & b, not a 3 star hotel offering spa facilities which are charged on top of room price. car parking secure but a pain having to find staff to open garage doors. entire hotel lacks service with a smile. i didnt expect a luxury room for a budget price but room standard fell far below price paid.

Great stay

We sayed 2 nights and found the staff very friendly, hotel needs to be a bit cleaner and could do with modernisation. the location was a big plus for us as its in walking distance of everything. for the price we paid 432 euro we expected alot more and at least a cooked breakfast.security of the rooms need to be a bit tighter as people were entering our room without knocking and we weren't sure if these were staff or just an opportunist waiting for the rooms to be vacant.
