Not what i expected !
I stayed in hotel de la jatte a few years ago and had retained very fond memories.....unfortunately those nice memories were shattered this time round! apart from the lovely chambermaids and one receptionist, the rest of the staff were very disagreeable and not at all friendly. the rooms were clean but the furniture and mattress definately needed changing....we had tired bed springs in ours which left a substantial gap in certain places and did nothing to enhance a good night’s sleep. room 314, just in case management should decide to verify! the furniture was worn and was stained and the bathroom had a sliding door that needed a wrestler to open. the silicone around the bath looked like a volcano had erupted....and no longer retained its original colour. as for breakfast....better get down early if you want to have an industrially baked croissant because they seem to disappear at an astonishing rate. the jam is presented in two big pots and people have to queue if they want some. the coffee is left to stew on a hot plate which adds a slightly burnt taste....and should you need any extra cutlery etc...i advise you not to bother the breakfast staff who are run off their feet. sad but true, a once charming hotel has gone to the dogs.
