Excellent hidden gem

This wonderful little riad was a tough one to find info about online. it was recommended to my husband and i by the owner or dar-k riad when they were fully booked. despite the lack of reviews and information, we went on instinct and booked our stay here. what a treat! after 18 hours of travel it was wonderful to enter this lovely oasis. the rooms are impeccable! samira greeted us at the door and had a lovely rose scented oud wafting through the place. sensing how tired we are she immediately had tea and treats ready for us and was ready to answer any questions, despite the language barrier. (french/arabic only) we stayed in the first floor suite and the room itself was perfect. we could close doors for total darkness that gives you an excellent nights sleep. the beds were comfortable, there are towels, a nice sitting area and a very clean bathroom. as with most places in morocco, you do need to bring your own toiletries (hair shampoo, conditioner etc......) the riad is located very close to the entry for the spice market and is a 10 minute walk or so to the main jmaa el fna square. it can be hard to find but they give you a map and if you get lost, the locals are more than happy to help guide you back (some of them do ask for a 10dh or so tip for the trouble) the price is very reasonable.... especially that it includes breakfast which you can either have outdoors or in the dining room at their gorgeous brass table. my husband and i highly recommend and will most certainly consider staying here again on our next trip.
