Disappointing - avoid room 14!
Beware - pictures on website bear no relation to reality! our booking contract stated 'deluxe room' - what we got was a small basement room with barred windows and a delightful view of a pile of black rubbish bags and a large van. the room had however evidently been recently redecorated and refurbished with ikea furniture, but the carpet had not been rewnewed and it was marked / stained in several places. the en suite was small but adequate, with an over bath shower - but could have been cleaner, and if you were over 5' 10" tall you would have trouble standing upright in the shower. one plus was that room was at the rear of the hotel so away from road / street noise, but this was negated the following morning when we were awoken at 6.30 by noise from upstairs - it appeared the room was situated directly below the kitchen and diningroom, with little or no sound deadening. missing window catch also meant that one of the windows rattled and we had to wedge it with a bit of cardboard. note although reference is made to there being a private car park, this is at the rear of the hotel and is very small, with little or no chance of a parking space! won't be staying here again - but would advise anyone else to check when booking to avoid basement rooms.
