The hotel is located on sauchiehall street, adjacent to argyll street which is in transition from a scruffy area to one on the up with new restaurants (korean, thai as well as italian) check in jowl with old style glasgow pubs. i have stayed at the hotel 3 times during the past 15 years, the last time in april 2007. the rooms have been refurbished as has the sutherland restaurant where breakfast is taken. i found the staff friendly and attentive, particularly the breakfast staff. it provides free wifi access. if you want a reasonably priced stay in glasgow about a mile from the centre, this hotel is worth considering. i used it as a stopover for a trip higher up into the highlands - as it is on the other side of glasgow it is idea for this purpose.
