Sightseeing and shopping in london

Perfect location for our trip, me and my two daughters 12 and 14 years old. located opposite to primark, which was much apprecieted by my daughters. easy to travel to, by stansted express to liverpool street and then underground to marble arch and only a few hundred metres to the hotel. during the stay we travelled by bus and the bus stops were just outside the hotel. very nice hotel, exclusive style. we were well recieved by the portier at our arrival. the breakfast was one of the best we ever had in a hotel.

The hotel is good only

The hotel was good busy nice location lobby is fine breakfast was very good but the room look old with old furniture and the wall of the room it seem old and not clean too .

London weekend

We have stayed at the thistle, marble arch on a number of occasions and find it an ideal hotel in respect of location, cleanliness, friendly staff and also comfortable beds.

Not as grand as it would like you to think

Upon arrival our booking could not be found and was told there was no room. unimpressed i said this is the 2nd time i've booked here and the 2nd time i've been told no room. (my 1st booking was with a travel agent for a twin room and they wanted to give us a double). our room on this booking was nicer than the previous, however overlooking oxford street and noise did filter in but the room adjoining ours was where most of the noise came through. bathroom was not clean. the room did not get vacuumed daily. security was very quick when we rang to say we couldn't lock the in room safe and fixed it instantly. buffett breakfast was impressive if travelling with luggage the underground is very close, however it's an obstacle with a lot stairs (& people!) we organised a taxi through the hotel for£60 to heathrow it was a mercedes and the driver very nice, in traffic it took over an hr to get there. if u want to be right in the city then this is the spot, if you don't want to be with crowds then definitely not this place.

Romantic weekend away

I had a lovely night away with my partner,we really loved the decor.our bed was amazing and we were very impressed with the size. i really liked the furniture and interior in the room and in the hotel itself. it was abit confusing when you come in that you have to check in up stairs.it could be abit more noted of where you have to go.

All of us really pleased

Three adults and four kids, twelve and eleven, in our group and each of us was really pleased with the hotel. we enjoyed the fifteen minute walk from paddington station and we got a warm and helpful welcome at the hotel from start to finish. two of our rooms were ready and made available to us even though it was only about 10:00am. the rooms were clean and bright and were nicely quiet too. the staff were efficient and helpful at all times. we were all absolutely delighted with the breakfast as the buffet food was fresh and lovely and there was something for all tastes. all of us agreed that we would go back.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel

Rooms very tired, towels old and worn. breakfast was an absolute nightmare. queued for over 40 minutes for 2 days out of the 4 i stayed there. when you eventually got a table, there was about another 20 minute queue for hot breakfast. on sunday, we didn't even bother because it would have taken us over an hour and we had an appointment. we had to pay again for breakfast after already paying a fortune for one in the first place. long wait for lifts.

Thistle hotel marble arch

I've stayed in this hotel many times mainly because of its fantastic location. this year i stayed with my mother and daughter in room 880. the room was spacious and we were pleased to have 3 proper beds and not a made-up cot for my daughter. however, we thought the decor was very shabby. the wall paper was marked in many places and the furniture was quite poor. the breakfast was fantastic. we had dinner there on one night and were disappointed with the fact that the food was only lukewarm and there were no mashed potatoes. also the restaurant wasn't warm enough.

Steve's birthday weekend.

Good value for money, excellent location (overlooking oxford street) and very helpful and friendly staff. rooms weren't very big but were clean and comfortable. we were offered an upgrade at £15 per night which we didn't take up. choice of breakfast was extremely good and high quality. would definitely stay there again.
